The Everlasting Gospel (Part I)

     In the book of Revelation chapter 14 verses 6 and 7 a movement that carries a special last hour message is mentioned.  According to the scriptures this final call message is declared unto all them that dwell on the earth.  As the Bible puts it, it is preached "to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people".  It is nothing other than the "everlasting gospel".

     Beloved, the truth is, from the very fall of mankind there has never been but one plan of salvation.  This plan was not created after the fall of humanity, but was conceived and covenanted by the Members of the Godhead, and hid in the heart and mind of God from times eternal.  Col 1:6   When the world was created in the beginning this everlasting covenant/gospel which was hid in God already existed.  Eph 3:9 Thus when humanity choose to be subjects of Satan, the provision to remedy this great apostasy, which was hid in God went into immediate effect.  Mankind was immediately covered.  The perfect balance of justice, mercy, and grace, which is love, began to be unfolded to all the universe in a more defined way than heretofore ever seen or known or needed.  The "Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" became a revealed reality.  This was a totally new chapter and depth of the love of God beginning to unfold before all the universe, fallen and unfallen.  It was the everlasting gospel.

     The first sermon ever preached unveiling the everlasting gospel was preached by the Living Word - God.  In Gen. 3:15, right after the fall of mankind God promised His own seed, who would conquer the head of all sin - the Devil.  God promised to recreate mankind in His own image again, thus imparting into him a hatred of sin and apostasy.

     In the sacrificial system committed to Adam and all humanity, in every sacrifice Christ the Lamb of God was represented.  The sacrificial system is nothing other than the everlasting gospel.  It taught clearly that redemption could come only by faith in the Lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world.

     All of the patriarchs and prophets throughout the entire Old Testament believed in and practiced this sacrificial service, thus proclaiming faith in the Lamb of God to come.  After all, the Bible in Gal 3:8 clearly states that God, "preached before the gospel unto Abraham".  Abraham was the great grandfather of the original children of Israel.  The Bible plainly states in Heb. 4:2 that the New Testament gospel preached then was also the same gospel presented to the ancient children of Israel.  There has never been but one gospel, from the fall of humanity unto the present.  The same gospel that saves now is the same gospel that saved all generations from the beginning of sin upon the earth.  The same Jesus that saves now, saved then.  We whole-heartedly agree with the wisest man that ever lived, who said in Eccles 1:9, "the thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done; and there is no new thing under the sun."  The everlasting gospel has been like the rising sun, it gradually dispels it's light until the day is in full fulfillment at noon-day.  From age to age the understanding, meaning, and fulfillment of the gospel has grown, brightened and matured.  So upon us whom the end of the world has evolved the Son of Righteousness shines in the apex of His light and fulfillment.  Upon us, the last-hour generation comes God's rest, and the accumulated light of the gospel of all ages.  More has been fulfilled now than ever before.  We are at the end of time and the 2nd coming of Him who said in Matt 28:18-20, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.  Amen."  These parting assurances and commands of our Lord are in perfect harmony with the words of Rev. 14:6-7.  It is essential and worthy to note that these words of life in Rev. 14:6-7 are recorded in the Last Book of the Bible which declares itself to be "The Revelation of Jesus Christ" Rev. 1:1.  Rev. chapter 14 verse 6-7 speaks of the "everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God and give glory to him: for the hour of his judgment is come; and worship him that made heaven and earth, and the sea, and fountains of waters."

     The everlasting gospel teaches all that the God who created mankind originally, is the same one who died and rose to recreate mankind back into His perfect image.  The everlasting gospel teaches that the creator is the redeemer - our Maker is our Saviour.  John chapter 1, and Hebrews chapter 1, with great clarity declare this eternal reality.  This is the story that all mankind so badly needs, the revelation of the manifested love of the Creator for the created.  This is the everlasting gospel and it has life changing - life giving power!
